Zus\u00e4tzlich zu den F\u00fchrungen, die von der von Lelia Caetani gegr\u00fcndeten \u201eFondazione Roffredo Caetani\u201c durchgef\u00fchrt werden ist Schauplatz prestigetr\u00e4chtiger kultureller Treffen und wird \u00fcber weite Strecken des Jahres von K\u00fcnstlern und Wissenschaftlern bewohnt. Im Fr\u00fchjahr bewohnen die Restauratoren des Internationalen Zentrums f\u00fcr Studien zur Erhaltung und Restaurierung des Kulturerbes die R\u00e4ume, die \u201ePinte Rooms\u201c genannt werden, die Fassade der Alten K\u00fcche. Die umliegende Siedlung hat das Aussehen eines Vicus und leitet ihren Namen von einer Kloake ab, die in den fr\u00fchen Zeiten des kleinen Dorfes (heute ein Ortsteil von Priverno) Fossa Nova genannt wurde. Die Abtei, deren Bau von 1163 bis 1208 dauerte, ist ein perfektes Beispiel des fr\u00fchen italienischen Gotikstils, genauer gesagt eine sichtbare Form des \u00dcbergangs von der Romanik zur Gotik; das Innere ist schlicht oder fast ohne Fresken (bis 1998 blieben zumindest einige Fragmente an den W\u00e4nden erhalten), entsprechend dem strengen Ged\u00e4chtnis der Zisterzienserm\u00f6nche. Im Krankenzimmer befindet sich das Zimmer, in dem der heilige Thomas von Aquin in den letzten Tagen seines Lebens wohnte, betete und meditierte und 1274 starb; noch heute bewahrt die Kirche sein einfaches leeres Grab (der K\u00f6rper wurde von den Dominikanern Ende des 14.
